Reflections on a Career in Oil and Gas

The oil and gas industry can be an incredibly fun and rewarding industry, providing opportunities to learn and grow. However, it is also cyclical in nature; and for over two decades, I’ve experienced both booms and busts and have had opportunities to learn from both sides of the spectrum. I’d like to share with you my career journey and discuss how I navigated critical decision points along the way, such as job changes, and the lessons that resulted. My goal is not to provide a recipe for success in the form of a polished TED talk (there are plenty of those out there), but instead to share what I’ve learned with the young professionals community who may, at some point in the future, face similar decision points in their careers.
