Dewaxing LLM: Turning Operational Job Logs into Scalable Dewaxing Intelligence

Dewaxing LLM: Turning Operational Job Logs into Scalable Dewaxing Intelligence

Dewaxing operations generate large volumes of detailed job log comments that capture critical information about downhole conditions, wax severity, tooling effectiveness, and operational outcomes. However, this information is typically stored as unstructured text, limiting its usefulness for analytics, optimization, and long‑term learning. As a result, engineers and operations teams often rely on manual reviews, incomplete summaries, and institutional knowledge rather than scalable data‑driven insights.

This presentation shares ARC Resources’ experience applying large language models (LLMs) to automatically transform dewaxing job logs into structured, analysis‑ready data at scale. The Dewaxing LLM solution generates consistent job summaries and run‑level details including pull depths, wax descriptions, fluid volumes, and tool usage,  directly from free‑text operational logs, while safely integrating results back into existing systems.
