PNR Decline – A Practical Route to Reliable EURs

PNR Decline – A Practical Route to Reliable EURs

DCA is popular because every well needs an EUR. DCA is practical and can be automated. However, DCA fails to consider drawdown aka flowing pressures. This can have a huge impact on the reliability of a DCA EUR. An alternative is time consuming reservoir models to estimate a physics-driven EUR, but they’re not always practical and require many assumptions. This discussion will focus on a potential solution, PNR Decline, developed by Xueying Xie of Oxy. Think about it as pressure-informed-DCA. The goal is a method to practically generate reliable EURs, considering drawdown.
